L. P. & C. Garden Railroad
History of the L.P.& C. Garden Railroad
The L. P. & C. Garden Railroad is an acronym for the first letter in myself, my wife and daughter's names. It was established on October 3, 1996 in the front yard of our home located next to the porch. We placed track in the front yard and hoped that it would last at least 4 to 6 weeks before someone would vandalize the railroad. Our layout survived for almost five years until August 4, 2001, when vandals did strike and damaged the track. At that point, I felt it was time to take down the railroad and move it to the backyard. Moving the track to the backyard was never accomplished.  I enjoyed the track location in front of the house because many people and neighbors would stop by to talk and ask questions about the trains. While the track was up we would run different trains for the holidays.  The most popular was my Halloween train. Every Halloween someone asks about the track and train and why it's not running.  It is hard to believe that it has been seven years now that it has been gone. Well, after being asked about the train layout again this year, we decided to put it back up in the front yard, but we are making some changes. There will be no buildings, as we had on the first layout, and the track will be hidden by scenery and rocks as much as possible.
First run of rebuilt garden railroad on June 04, 2009
